Description
During this Study and Practice Daylong Retreat we will be exploring the Buddha’s teachings on Dependent Arising. A central concept in Buddhism that reveals the intricate web of interconnectedness in our lives. All phenomena arise in dependence on causes and conditions, and understanding this can lead to deeper insights into the nature of existence.
Throughout the day, we will be engaging in Dharma talks as well as sutta study (suttas are Buddhist discourses). There will also be time for meditation, reflection, and discussion.
Everyone is welcome, but some prior meditation experience is advised. For those new to meditation we do ask that you watch the series of four videos on the page for beginners.
This is not a fully silent retreat, during the breaks you will have the opportunity to engage with other participants. We do ask you to turn off our phones and other devices, in order to minimize external distractions, promote mindfulness and inner stillness, and respect the practice of fellow meditators.
After the retreat there is an optional social gathering from 4:00 – 4:45 PM, some snacks are provided.
