DĀNA

Dāna, or generosity, is a cornerstone of Buddhist practice. It is one of the foundational teachings of the Buddha, who often introduced his disciples to the concept of dāna before guiding them in meditation.

From the time of the Buddha, the Dharma has been shared through acts of generosity. Monks and nuns have been teaching the Dharma out of a spirit of giving for centuries, while laypeople have been supporting the monastics by providing food, shelter, clothing, and medicine.

My teachings are offered in this same spirit of generosity. Your donations enable me to continue sharing the Dharma. Being sustained by the generous contributions of others is a true privilege, enabling me to teach the Dharma with trust and gratitude.

If you feel inspired to give, please offer what feels appropriate and generous to you. This amount may vary for each person. Take joy in your generosity, knowing that your support helps sustain the ongoing transmission of the Dharma to you and others through our shared acts of giving.

Ways to give

Sharon Salzberg:

“True giving is a thoroughly joyous thing to do. We experience happiness when we form the intention to give, in the actual act of giving, and in the recollection of the fact that we have given. Generosity is a celebration.”
